When I wrote my last entry I thought I'd get into the habit of posting something every week, well it turns out that didn't happen :-P.
Anyhow, since then I've added a new gallery on my webby to keep it updated for now. I've a few more images that will be added soon but I'm doing a new layout to make it a little clearer in the mean time so they'll be added along with that :-].
I've been working on some freelance projects since Christmas with some great opportunities coming up here and there. Currently I'm working up some samples for another project so we'll see how it goes and I'll make sure to plop some updates on here more often!

Post Master's
So as I mentioned in my last post, I've been wrapping up my Master's work with...more work. Including the above WIP, I've been putting together 4 images based on the first book. Below is a second WIP of the Lion, Pingalaka. Who, having just heard the cry of Samjivaka the bull, has dropped his jug of water! There's still plenty to do, the water, his robes and aspects of the environment are quite unfinished at the moment. I've also played with adding some cooler colours to the mix but that hasn't really worked so I've stuck with a warm palette.
I'm still working on the image from my previous post which is looking just fine. I've also began work on the third image of Vishnu Sharma's mountain temple! So hopefully I may have an update of those in my next post :-)!I also really need to jazz up my blog layout a bit!

Loss of friends!
So I've been going over the initial sketches I made for the Panchatantra's first book, 'The loss of friends' and decided to turn a few of them into finished images. Whilst they were only really sketches, they somewhat show the level of skill I was at with digital painting so it might be interesting to see how my work has developed over the last year! The image below is made up of three images: the top is the recent WIP, the middle is a wip from a few days ago, which was pretty much meant to be a speedy purge to take the image somewhere else, and the bottom is the oldest sketch from last December.
I plan on creating two more images based on the same book. I'll post some updates of those soon aswell!

End of MA
So I'm now at the end of my Master's degree! You can find my most recent work involving that now on my website alongside a few more pages added to my sketchbook!
The Panchatantra and it's unconventional layout has been a great subject to work with and now I'm left to consider how I can expand upon that work as there are 3 books left that I haven't yet touched. I'm very tempted to revisit the first book as it's the largest and the images I prepared based on it were really preliminary work for the second set created for the September exhibition.
Anyway, besides from that I'm looking into voluntary artist work alongside sorting out applications to agencies!
Oh, and here's the finished version of the image I previously posted a WIP of! I had some interesting troubles with balancing the tones but I think it's turned out fairly well. It's always weird to look over the real image itself after it's been balanced in PS, they always look so grey and saturated

First update!
First update, good stuff!
So currently I'm working on stuff for my MA exhibition in September which I'll hopefully be posting little updates about alongside stuff I'm working on, on the side. Besides that I need to update my Webby in preparation for that MA work and sort out my LinkedIn account. Wondering how useful Li will be in the future but at the moment it's looking fairly handy.
Anyway, here's a sketch of a beast I'm currently working on. He has this 'Stare of stone' that I really wanted to show so I thought I'd have these petrified men exploding into pieces around him as he breaks free from his bonds! I'm wondering how to go about the colours but one thing I know I want is a really bright light coming from the window to bring out the details of the rock shards and dust clouds.
I've started on the piece itself but there's nothing much to say about it at the moment so I guess I'll see how it goes!
